Project Description
Describe the location and your goals for your Decorative Crosswalk. | A significant portion of Chinatown's population are seniors who rely solely on walking and public transportation. The intersection of Broadway and Ord St in Chinatown is a heavily trafficked intersection for pedestrians due to a clustering of several bus lines and numerous mom and pop shops frequented by Chinatown residents. Cars are also making turns through the crosswalk simultaneous to pedestrian crossings. Our goal at this intersection is to use traditional motifs and colors found in East Asian art to accentuate current continental already striping at the intersection. Visual accents will enhance both the pedestrian experience as well as serve as a reminder to drivers to be aware of pedestrian crossings. |
