Project Description

Describe the location and your goals for your Decorative Crosswalk. The intersection is one of the most heavily used by pedestrians in all of Downtown Los Angeles. Our most recent Downtown LA Retail Report (https://www.downtownla.com/images/reports/BID.MIY.RetailReport18.v9OPT.pdf ) has recent pedestrian counts for this intersection on page-10, including over 2,600 ped. counts during the 5-7pm rush. The 7th/Metro red line station - the hub of activity for ALL Metro lines in the LA region - literally opens up to this intersection at one of its exit points. Our goals for this project would be to fit in with the new bike lanes LADOT has installed along 7th street between Hope and Grand (in front of The Bloc shopping complex) and make the intersection even more ped-friendly and bike-friendly. We would take guidance from the city's Complete Street Design Guide and other city planning documents, and garner community and Council District support for this project.
