| Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly | I am writing to advocate that the street in front of my place of residence, Fenno street, as well as the concurrent street, Columbus street, both receive additional signage that makes clear they are one way only streets. In addition, Columbus Street is particularly thickly settled- so much so that larger vehicles will not fit through. This is not evident to those new to the area until the vehicle is well past a safe area to turn around. This causes larger vehicles (owned by nearby businesses) to regularly make U turns at the corner of Columbus and Fenno St, jeopardizing the safety of mine and nearby resident's vehicles. Between Thursday, July 29th and Friday, July 30th, my car- parked right in front of my residence of 30 Fenno St, was hit. My passenger side door has severe damages that will require a complete replacement of the door. While the crash occurred, my passenger side mirror was pushed into a down position (so that the mirror faced the passenger window)- indicating that the driver was coming from the opposite direction my car was facing. Not only do U turns cause great inconvenience to those handling large vehicles in such a small space, leaving both streets as is leaves our cars in vulnerable positions, creating room for additional errors and crashes. The indicated date of the incident (Saturday, July 31st, 10 AM) is the time I noticed my car had been hit. It had been parked in the same location (corner of Fenno/Columbus) prior to the incident on both Thursday and Friday. |
