Dear City Department / Traffic Engineering Division, I am requesting that the curbs around the driveway entrance on Ivy Ave at 204 E Cherry Ave, Monrovia be painted red to improve safety and visibility. Currently, vehicles frequently park too close to the driveway, which creates blind spots for cars entering and exiting. This is particularly dangerous because: Limited visibility: Parked cars block the view of oncoming traffic, creating a hazard when pulling in or out. High traffic speeds: Vehicles often travel quickly along S Ivy Ave, increasing the risk of collisions. School zone safety: This corner is a pick-up and drop-off location for school buses, with children walking nearby. Narrow roadway: When cars are parked on both sides, it is extremely difficult to safely turn out of the driveway. Given the combination of speeding traffic, limited visibility, narrow streets, and children in the area, restricting parking with a red curb would significantly improve safety for residents, pedestrians, and school children. I have attached a photo for reference and respectfully request that the City evaluate this location for a red curb installation. Thank you for your consideration.
