Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly On June 16, 2025, I was operating my motorcycle—a 2024 Honda CMX300—while exiting the highway via the Beacon Street exit in Chelsea, Massachusetts. As I merged onto the exit ramp, I encountered a hazardous and poorly maintained section of roadway. Specifically, my motorcycle struck a large pothole located at the very end of the exit ramp, approximately 15 yards before the stop sign. I was traveling at a safe speed and obeying all traffic laws when the incident occurred. The impact from the pothole caused my motorcycle to become unstable, resulting in a crash that totaled the vehicle. There were no warning signs, cones, or any visible attempt to mark or repair the hazard. The condition of the Beacon Street exit presented a serious and unreasonable danger to motorists, especially to those on two-wheeled vehicles. I believe this defect existed for some time and that the City of Chelsea either knew or should have known about it and failed to act accordingly. My motorcycle, which was purchased brand new and financed through Hanscom Federal Credit Union, was declared a total loss. I have also incurred towing and storage fees. I respectfully request that the City of Chelsea consider this claim and provide reimbursement for the damages caused by the unsafe road conditions.
