| Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly | On Wednesday October 30, I parked my car right in front of 106 Watts Street. At the time I parked, around 5pm, I did not see any NO PARKING sign on the street, that is why I confidently parked, because I was traveling out of the State the next morning and coming back on Sunday, planning to leave my car there all those days. The following day, my neighbor sent me a message saying that she saw my car being towed. I then, sent emails to the City Manager, my City Councilor and Karen, the person in charge of the construction project of Innes apartments. No one really gave me an explanation and by this time, todisco already got my car to their lot in East Boston. When I came back on Sunday November 3rd, from the airport, I went directly to Chelsea police, got the release paper and then walked to Todisco to get my car. I paid $332.36. In the paper, todisco said that my car was finished taken by 11:18 am on Thursday October 31, 2024. The City's ordinance says that the NO PARKING signs, have to be posted 24 hours before work on the street starts . In this case, the signs were not posted 24 hours before. This was a completely wrong action from the construction company, the police and any other involve on this. I am filling this today, because after more than 20 years living in Chelsea, and after all headaches and problems with this construction project, (including breeding asbestos) I did not know about this claim. Never before no one from the City mentioned before. The same project, just did the same two week ago, they posted NO PARKING signs on Watts, around 2:30pm, and started work the next day around 7am. No one said anything about it, this project and company since they started prep and demolition, had got away with whatever they want to do, with no consideration to residents, neighbors and the whole City of Chelsea officials don't helped the neighbors either. My case is just an example of all the unjust we've been living and suffering from this project, here on Watts Street |
