Describe your concern |
When turning left from Fano onto Mayflower, drivers face several challenges that make it difficult to execute a safe turn. Visibility of oncoming traffic from the left is obstructed by parked vehicles. Additionally, vehicles approaching from the left often travel at higher speeds due to the downhill ramp near the train tracks, which causes acceleration. Drivers must also contend with traffic coming from the right and the absence of a median to divide the turn into two stages. These factors force drivers to estimate gaps in traffic and begin their turn, relying on oncoming vehicles to notice them and slow down. I have personally witnessed many near-collisions at this intersection, particularly during the afternoon when Mayflower becomes busier and visibility from Fano is further reduced by four parked cars.
