| Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly | On July 30th after 5pm, I parked my vehicle nearby 50-54 Cary Avenue, which is outside of my residential address of 693 Broadway. During that time, there were orange cones on the corner of Broadway & Cary Avenue due to ongoing sidewalk repairs, but there was not any cones on the sidewalk area or roadway closest to where I parked my car. On the evening of July 30th when I parked my vehicle, there simply was no signage indicating I could not park where I did. Subsequently, on the morning of July 31st, around 8am my car was towed. With extensive daily construction in my area over the last year, police have made it a thing to offer residents a courtesy call if they need vehicles moved. On July 31st, I was not offered this same courtesy, and it cost my family and I both time and money to remedy the matter. And I was home at the time, just feet away when my car was towed. Had I received a courtesy call, which to my understanding has been a standard practice, I would’ve moved my vehicle right away. Additionally, as you will see in the attached timestamped pictures, which demonstrate that no construction was being done almost 2 hours after my car was towed, signage was in the place of my vehicle then but was not there when I parked. And as a longtime resident of Chelsea, I think it’s fair to mention this is the first time my car has been towed for parking reasons. Due to the aforementioned, I’m requesting the City of Chelsea cover the cost of my loss in the amount of $169.00 (cost of towing fees). I look forward to hearing back from you on the matter.
