This is MariaElena. I live at 1420 S. Alta Vista Ave and the main concern that I have by my house is the speeding, cars going the wrong way, and cars doing donuts on Central Ave. This is why we would like to request a speed radar right by our house. In the past when we've requested the speed radar, they always would put it on the street right by the stairs to our second floor apartment. I hope that other measures can be taken besides the speed radar to try and put a stop to these three serious issues. Cars will go flying down Central Ave at incredibly high speeds. The speeding is literally a 24/7/365 problem. It does not stop, even during the middle of the night, cars will fly by at high speeds. We think we've seen cars fly by between 90 and 100 m.p.h. They take advantage that it is a long stretch of a one way street along the wall of the freeway and that the two lanes are very wide. Also, we have a huge problem with cars doing donuts. Once the cars reach the corner of my house, they begin to do the donuts and they will make a right on the corner of my house, on S. Alta Vista Ave. Another major problem is that almost daily, we see cars going the wrong way on Central Ave. Many cars will keep going down straight the wrong way on Central Ave and I've seen others coming down from Central Ave and they will make a left onto S. Alta Vista Ave, right by my house. I hope that I was able to explain this good because I am incredibly bad with street directions. I've always had a hard time understanding street directions.
