| Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly | On 5/27/24 Chelsea Police Department broke down the door to my condo in search of my tenant due to a received wellness check from an unnamed party. The officers gained entry into my property by using a “halligan tool” as described in the police report. Door was split, the frame, and door jam all need to be replaced which I have been quoted at $900 in damages conflicting with the $200 estimate in the police’s report. My downstairs neighbor informed the officers that she had a spare key for emergencies and was told it wasn’t necessary. The tenant was not even at the building and was miles away in Pittsfield with family. In speaking with him he said there were no concerning messages, there were no attempts to contact him by authorities either. |
