Briefly describe your audience(s) and mission as an artist or organization. The audience comprises the citizens of Chelsea. The mission is to foster perspective and respect towards elderly individuals, portraying them as an integral part of Chelsea's history. This will be achieved by showcasing portraits of seniors who have contributed to Chelsea's rich 400-year heritage.
Briefly describe the project that will take place. Portraits and stories will be taken to be displayed and viewed in one of Chelsea's Art Gallery, as art of Chelsea 400th celebration
Outline how you plan to market your project and the timeline you intend to follow. In addition, outline the audiences you intend to reach (be specific). You may attach an additional document if necessary. "We intend to promote through flyers, social media, and personal conversations. The timeline for our marketing efforts will span from June to September 2024. Our target audience is the community of Chelsea."
What benefit(s) will this project bring to Chelsea and its residents? How do you expect to engage the community? The advantage lies in honoring our elderly residents and enabling others to learn about their contributions to Chelsea's history, fostering education and appreciation.
Are you partnering and/or collaborating with other organizations? If so, name the organization(s) and their role(s) in the project. Darlene DeVita, an artist renowned for her portraiture, will capture the essence of her subjects while diligently recording and transcribing their stories. Additionally, she will skillfully oversee the coordination and management of the gallery showcase for display.
Acknowledgement of the Chelsea Heritage Celebrations Grant by the CCC is mandatory on all advertisement and promotions. How do you plan to accomplish this? Be specific. We will ensure Chelsea Heritage Grant by the CCC is displayed on every piece of literature, recognized in local newspaper, and mentioned at every presentation.
How will you measure the success/impact of this project? Determine whether the project achieved its artistic expression, social impact, community engagement, and personal development. We will measure the level of engagement and interaction from the audience. Assess how the project was received. Positive reviews and recognition from community leaders can indicate success. Did it inspire other artists or projects? Did it leave a lasting impression on the community. Assess the satisfaction of the artists and collaborators involved in the project. Did they feel creatively fulfilled? Did they achieve personal growth or professional development through the project? We will maintain documentation of the project, including photographs, videos, testimonials, press coverage, and any other relevant materials.
How will the project be modified if the entire amount is not awarded? Be specific. We will look to decrease the amount of elders participating, and look for support through other community agencies and possible city funding.
