Briefly describe your audience(s) and mission as an artist or organization. The city of Chelsea is turning 400 years old in 2024 as it was settled in 1624. To commemorate this milestone, the City of Chelsea is partnering with the City of Revere to create a mural and events celebrating 400 years of settlement.
Briefly describe the project that will take place. This is a major anniversary for the City of Chelsea. The mural/events being created will be designed with all of these centuries in mind. We will honor/recognize Chelsea's culture and population throughout the years and centuries. The mural will be up for 2024 and 2025. The mural's location is expected to be on the outside walls of the MDC Ice Rink located between Revere and Chelsea or the bridge on route 107 between Chelsea and Revere. This will also celebrate that Revere part of Chelsea and recognized as North Chelsea.
Outline how you plan to market your project and the timeline you intend to follow. In addition, outline the audiences you intend to reach (be specific). You may attach an additional document if necessary. We will be promoting this event through Chamber social media platforms, City of Chelsea social media platforms, Discover Chelsea, and Meet Boston social media platforms.
What benefit(s) will this project bring to Chelsea and its residents? How do you expect to engage the community? We expect to engage the community by creating a mural that shares the history between Chelsea and Revere once North Revere and the historical events that have taken place since the settlement of Winnisimett in 1624.
Are you partnering and/or collaborating with other organizations? If so, name the organization(s) and their role(s) in the project. The Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the City of Revere's Department of Recreational Affairs. Revere's Department of Recreational Affairs has secured some funds through Revere's Cultural Council for this project.
Acknowledgement of the Chelsea Heritage Celebrations Grant by the CCC is mandatory on all advertisement and promotions. How do you plan to accomplish this? Be specific. We plan to market and advertise the CCC logo on all 400th flyers, events, City of Chelsea website, Chamber of Commer newsletter and social media platforms.
How will you measure the success/impact of this project? We would gage the success and impact of this project based on the number of attendees when the mural is unveiled and social media exposure.
How will the project be modified if the entire amount is not awarded? Be specific. The scale of the project will be reduced in accordance with the funds that were awarded in addition to seeking additional funding and support from local business owners.
