Background or description of person or organization | Mr. Marcus Pacley was born February 16th, 1979, in Erie PA. He is the father of two children Kyrion and Jaydyn Pacley. |
Description of program, initiative, or accomplishment | Because of his daughter Jayden's mother in 2015, he started mentoring kids in 2016, in AAU basketball. Because the skills and tools that they need to succeed in life, this motivated him to start his own basketball program, with the help of Daryl Roberts called Drills for Skills. Mr. Pacley's intentions were to mentor youth through the basketball season. He has been working for Voices for Independence as well for 15 years. In 2020 Mr. Pacley started his own company called Pacleys Moving and Labor Services, LLC. He received an award from Erie's Black Wall Street for being one of the best black owned businesses in Erie PA. |
Explanation of how this person or organization impacts the Erie community | Mr. Pacley has served on the board of Michael Making Lives Better, being a volunteer coordinator for the free back to school hair cut event. In 2017, Mr. Pacley began a program called The Prom Angels Project, in which less fortunate high school children were sponsored for prom or home coming. Mr. Pacley's moving company sponsors a family from the Mercer Center for Women every year for their Christmas tree list. |
