Several times a week cars, pickup trucks and larger trucks SPEED up and down the street, which has a rise that braking is need coming down the street. We have small children, teen age children and elderly people, who would not be able to get out of the way. With parked cars on both sides and a speeding vehicle scares the people fearing entering their cars etc. Many of the people wondered why we can't have this fixed of speedsters going up and down our street at various times of the week. As I listened to a number of people who have asked this question as to why we can't stop these people racing around the corner and up the street, I asked the question has anyone contacted City Hall? They answered no and I took it on myself because I was starting to feel guilty that nobody is stepping forward to explain the situation with the people who can do something about it. Should someone be injured or killed, I would feel very bad about it and not doing anything about it. Therefore, we are asking the City to have a look at the situation to prevent any accidents on the street. Hillcrest at the top and Melrose has got a history of accidents that they can verify. The big concern that came to light is from north of Foothill, various times of the day, morning or evening, people will speed up from Foothill, up the hill, and within two residence there are small children, old people, some with canes, should they be out there is no way to get out of their way.
