Community awareness on the accomplishments in recovery, and offer resources on how to support those effected by addiction. To acknowledge an organization that for 50 years has existed to support the LGTBQ community. Provide a carnival like event celebrating recovery from addiction.

Yes. On July 17, 2017, the City Council approved the co-sponsorship of the Van Ness Recovery House's movie screening fundraiser on Saturday, August 5th in Great Hall at Plummer Park from 6pm to 11pm. The co-sponsorship included monetary support of $195 including the waiver of the $195 facility rental fee, and the Plummer Park three hour parking regulation (estimated $195 in waived fees). The fundraiser was ticketed, with ticket prices ranging between $15 and $20.

City Facility Use (if yes, which facility and room, as applicable), Promotion of the event via the City’s communication channels, Validated parking at a City Lot (if yes, which City parking lot or parking facility), Fee waivers for ancillary City permits that may be required for the event (e.g., Special event permit, building and safety permit, encroachment permits, etc.), Monetary Support. Not all Co-Sponsorships will include monetary support from the City. Please keep in mind, public funds must be used to support the community, must serve a public purpose, and requests will be reviewed in accordance with all applicable laws.
