| Describe your idea and how it can help Santa Monica | VEAR will revolutionize public transportation in the city of Santa Monica by providing an autonomous, connected and electrical alternative to traditional auto transportation. It will decrease car clutter on the roads, aid our fight against climate change by reducing carbon emissions and provide a fun way to get around the city. | How realistic is it for your idea to be implemented by early 2018? Please describe what resources (if any) you will need in order to ensure a working product by early next year. | The short answer is "very realistic," but the longer answer is that it depends on when we get the go-ahead, and how you define "early" 2018. The partnerships are already in place between each technology collaborator (hardware, software and vehicle provider). The missing link is municipal buy-in and funding. So, if we were given the greenlight in December, my guess is that we'll need 4-6 months to implement the VEAR system. |
