| Describe your idea and how it can help Santa Monica | We provide information about attorneys and law firms based from court records. The project can help the city in two ways. First, the city could provide residents with a resource that allows them to make better data-driven decisions when engaging attorneys. Litigation is scary, and attorneys are an unknown for most people. Providing this resource reduces the uncertainty residents face when engaged in this process. Secondly, we could help optimize the city's own performance in litigation by providing it with data about the performance of the firms and attorneys it engages in litigation (other than the City Attorney) and the track records of its opponents. Our data reveals that the City has been named in close to 300 legal proceedings in the past 5 years (https://www.litimetrics.com/parties/900524/city-of-santa-monica/) |

| What needs to happen to launch your product? Please list all resources (hardware, software, licensing, legal/regulatory, funding, partnership or support from the City, data, etc.) required to launch your program. | Ultimately, an agreement would need to be reached between the City and us about the terms of the platform's availability for residents and the City's own attorneys. The platform might be discounted for residents (eg, subsidized by the City) or even free depending on the financial support. Other than that, we'd need marketing support so that the City's residents are aware of the platform's availability. |
