Describe your concern I live on OakLeaf Avenue. There are many Traffic Issues: 1. Frequently we walk our Alaskan Husky in a circle on Oakleaf to Park Rose, then onto Wildrose thru the curve at the Bradbury Estates Gate and back home. Recently both of us have almost gotten hit by Bradbury vehicle traffic. Can we get a sign on Wildrose, pedestrian's present and repeat the 20 mile an hour speed limit? Maybe even, god forbid, SPEED BUMPS LIKE BRADBURY ROAD HAD INSTALLED? 2. We have lived here over 30 years. With the relocation of the Bradbury Estates Gate , from Lemon to the Wildrose / Oakleaf "T", we have experienced ever increasing Bradbury traffic with no concern for the residents in our neighborhood, I have seen a double trailer tractor trailer with building beam easily as long as a human arm and as long as the trailers (12 ft/15ft) coming across the Wildrose bridge, which has signs posted "Gas Line" and a 3000 Ton limit on trucks. This last week it was a cement mixer that turned left onto Wildrose and went out the Wildrose bridge. The next day, as I turned onto the Wildrose bridge from Park Rose, a Hubbard horse transport trailer also coming the other way to Bradbury. Sign says - "narrow bridge" and "weight limit" and "gas line". Here I got to see the white of his eyes! 3. Packs of cycalists, as many as 40 at a time, come up Bradbury Road to the “south” Wildrose curve, run the Wildrose stop sign at Oakleaf Avenue…continue…and run the stop sign after the “north” Wildrose curve…out to Mountian. Suggestion(s): I believe our neighborhood was once referred to as "Victoria Park". How about installing a "tiara" like the one on main street Monrovia - Myrtle avenue. Just make it smaller with a clearance to prohibit large trucks and have it work like a gate, in the case a fire truck has to come thru for an emergency or to let Santa Visit, let the fire department have a "remote control' to open the bridge to fire truck height traffic. Pass on to Santa, it's past Covid and we miss our candy canes! Put in an automated gate and issue pass codes or cards to the residents of: Wildrose, Parkrose, and Oakleaf. Anyone else coming into this area, there is Lemon and Royal Oaks. If you want to include the streets north of lemon and east of Mountian...they are our neighbors also. Make our neighborhood “Residents Only” parking. We frequently have large gravel trucks drop their trailer and go up into Bradbury… frequently dropping gravel all over the street. We always have the guards for Bradbury park on our street. Sometimes the guards take their lunch break and nap on our street. The City of Bradbury should be providing parking. Sometimes the guards take their lunch break and nap on our street. Maybe, with this “widening of Bradbury Road /Wildrose”, they can also create parking onsite Bradbury property for them. Put a "Pedestrian Present / 20 mph speed limit / resident's only/no thru traffic" sign, on the OakLeaf sign nearest the Bradbury Estates gate and one at the stop sign, on Wildrose and Park Rose. Put a "NO RIGHT TURN TRUCKS" VISIABLE TO ANYONE COMING OUT TO THE BRADBURY ESTATE GATE! Make Wildrose a “one way” street from Mountain to Bradbury or at least to Oakleaf Avenue. Monitor the weight that comes over the bridge with a permanent pressure line and a camera. This would help catch and ticket the overweight trucks and stop the packs of cyclists coming up the Wildrose South curve. This and the “tiara” previously mentioned should stop the overweight truck traffic. With the extra room on the street, put in a pedestrian sidewalk all the way out to MOUNTAIN, LINING UP WITH THE CURRENT ONE ON WILDROSE. Here, at the crosswalk on Mountian – add one of those blinking crosswalk lights for pedestrians that wish to cross Mountain at Wildrose. You would be surprised how really dangerous that is right now the the Mountain / Foothill vehicle traffic. Put a parabolic mirror on the north “Wildrose curve”, so that pedestrians walking their pets are more obvious visible. We should be able to safely walk in our neighborhood without concern about getting hit by Bradbury vehicle traffic. Maybe a blinking “slow down – 20 mph on that curve! Wishful thinking....make Bradbury move their non-resident traffic gate back to Lemon. Here, there is a block patch of unused LA County land that is a direct route north of Buena Vista to Lemon. On the left side of Lemon is an already existing gate access for straight in traffic. This ties to the proposed and only approved enlargement of Bradbury road and the Wildrose CURVE to the currently being used Bradbury Estate Access. The City Council of Bradbury is not allowing a voice to any of my neighbors. My neighbors, on the “South Curve” I have particularly sympathy for. It is not Bradbury that will be adversly impacted by this "improvement" but my immediate neighbors, residents of Monrovia, across the the "hill" on the Wildrose Curve. Additionally, I fear that when construction starts, trucks will be parking not inside Bradbury and inconveniencing their residents, but it will be my neighborhood and in particular, my street, that will experience the construction equipment and the dropping of dirt and gravel. To the above, the contractors who were doing construction constantly drop trailers on our street and then go into the Bradbury Estates. I just found out this is ILLEGAL. They drop trailers on Oakleaf Avenue and on the next block off of Bradbury Road, Winding Oaks I believe is the name. Can we get more enforcement action on this, when it happens. Very simply - if Bradbury doesn't wish to communicate and take their Monrovia neighbors concerns and issues into consideration ...WHY THE HELL ARE WE BEING NICE? I live on Oakleaf, can I volenteer to be a part of your traffic enforcement, with proper briefing on legal can and can't, from my front yard...especially during this mess Bradbury is planning?
