Scholar's First Academy offers academic tutoring and educational support services to youth and families in our community. Additional program services include mentoring and peer support groups for youth and families struggling with mental health, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
The mission of Scholar’s First Academy LLC (SFA) is to provide educational support services to students, parents, and educators, as well as the community in our effort to help close the achievement gap with inner-city youth in disadvantaged communities. We foster one-on-one support and small group tutoring in diverse and supportive learning environments to address individual student learning needs and improve efficacy and confidence in their growth and ability to learn and overcome challenges. We offer a wide variety of program services for youth ages 5-24 years of age, including mentoring and workforce development and job readiness programs for youth ages 14-24 years of age.

Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to LGBTQ Pride |
Our founders have worked in education and youth development for over 16 years and have a level of compassion and empathy for all youth especially our LGBTQIA youth. Some of this work has included youth development specifically working with LGBTQ youth in Wisconsin and Nashville. My previous work with organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee included a timeframe where I managed a high school site for an all girls high school St. Joan Antida High School. The school had a large student body that identified as LGBTQ. Our program services were catered to serve the needs of those youth specifically. In working with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee where we were able to create a partnership with an LGBTQ youth serving organization where we housed homeless LGBTQ youth in our facilitates at night so they would have a safe place to stay during the night. Our personal experiences with LGBTQ PRIDE have included attending various PRIDE events in Milwaukee, WI, Nashville, TN and WEHO PRIDE the previous two years. We are advocates of youth and support youth and families of the LGBTQ community. Our founders both represent the LGBT community and can relate to and understand the support services needed for youth specifically in this community.
