| Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly | 10/28 Noticed small amount of water on floor in basement near washing machines. 10/29 Received a call from tenant that there was an odor in the basement 10/30 Received a call from a different tenant that there was more water in the basement and the odor was worse 10/31 Went to the property, saw the water and called rapid Flow to address the back up. Rapid Flow arrived around noon, assessed the main was backed up. Rapid Flow got their drain auger, when they opened the main cap, raw sewage slowly came up, they inserted the auger and the sewage started to pour into the basement. Once they realized the auger was at the street, they removed the auger and put the cap back on the main. At this point the basement was flooded and filled with sewage. Rapid Flow then removed the sewer cap in front of the property, we could easily see the back up. I then called Chelsea water department, they arrived, check the sewers and called for the sewer jetter truck. The truck arrived and removed the sewer back up. I then went back to the property, ran the first floor bath tub, opened the main cap and could see the back up was fixed. 11/1 I contacted Spring Hill Environmental who began the clean up process later that day. The clean up of the basement was complete on 11/5. |
