| Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly | On October 18 at about 7:50 AM while driving to work my car hit a raised manhole cover. The location is at the corner of Beacon St. and Howell Ct., not far from the Beacon St. exit off the Tobin bridge. There had been digging and paving on the road. There was a retangular hole, depression in the road and the manhole cover was raised about 2 inchs above the temporary pavement. There were no signes or traffic cones near the manhole cover. I had driven over the same area, while there had been digging before. I slowed down to about 2 mph. My car came to a very sudden stop and the manhole cover hit my exhast system. It caused damage to a catalytic converter, manifold converter and engine exhaust manifold. I called the police when I got to work at 180 Second St. I went to the police station on 10/21/22 and a report was filed. I noticed that ther road was properly paved over after that. |
