| Please Describe the Incident Thoroughly | On April 20, 2022, a truck driver named Alphonso A. Sanchee, for Boston Carting Services, one of Chelsea’s contractors for trash removal, had an accident that was caused when the truck he was driving got caught on low-hanging wires and then were dragged which caused 2 electric poles to break. One was located at the corner of Carroll Street and Washburn Street in Chelsea, and another ½ way down Washburn Street. The Chelsea Police, the City of Chelsea, and Eversource Electric Co. were called in immediately and over several days they made the external repairs to the poles. However, they informed us that we would need to hire an electrician to repair the additional damages caused to our properties, and so we did. The exterior repairs made to our properties were necessary due to the accident caused by the trash removal truck. We have a copy of the Police Report for the accident. We are requesting that the City of Chelsea and/or your contractor, Boston Carting Services pay for the damages made to my home. When we contacted Boston Carting Services, they said they were not responsible for the damage and that the City of Chelsea was at fault for the low-hanging wires. There was a prior accident that occurred the year before, on Nov. 10, 2020, on Washburn Street, directly in front of my home ,which also caused damage to my home’s electrical equipment for the exact same reason, low hanging wires. And I ended up paying for those repairs out of pocket. This time I am making a claim. I had contacted Michael McAteer, who informed me to see Cheryl Watson and City Clerk, Jeannette Citron. I went to the City Hall on Wed., June 22nd, to see each of them but they were not available. I was told to file a claim online. I have the bill from the Electrician for the electrical repairs, the Police Report, and photos of the accidents, both prior and current.
