Please briefly describe your organization/group and its mission or purpose: Unique Woman's Coalition is committed to fostering the next generation of Black Trans leadership from within the Los Angeles, West Hollywood and surrounding areas through Mentorship, Scholarship and Community Care/Engagement work. UWC is dedicated to being a collective voice centering the narratives and needs of Black Trans culture. UWC provides a wide range of professional services to meet the needs of Black Trans people, not just Black Trans women. Including a referral service which bridges service gaps and creates a stronger service network to achieve a healthy and empowered community. As well as a cultural competency training for healthcare professionals which focuses on skills and knowledge to uplift Diversity, understand and respond to cultural differences and increase awareness of providers and care organizations cultural norms.

Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to LGBTQ Pride Our Transcestors are responsible for the very first pride that lended our Gay siblings their voice. Trans People have a long history of paving the way and our current generation is still continuing our Trancestors work today.
Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to West Hollywood Unique Woman's Coalitions' founder has participated in various city sponsored events like Vagina Monologues and has also been awarded by the City along with Planned Parenthood and the TAB for her work. UWC has also aligned and partnered with the City of West Hollywood to produce Trans Day of Visibility and Trans Day of Remembrance. UWC has opened and established the very first of its kind, Transgender Empowerment Center in the heart of what used to be called boys town.

Option 2 - Separately Produced Event

Please describe you proposed event: UWC is currently celebrating it's 25 year anniversary! Each year we host Our Honors Awards..the event is focused on honoring positive contributions of LGBTQ people of color. Our Honors gives us an opportunity to gather as a community to celebrate and shine light on the talent, dedication and efforts that positively impact our community. It's our way of giving community members their roses while they're here. The event is a mix of education and entertainment while raising awareness and encouraging community building and spirit. Our Honors Awards is presented by community for community.
Will you be requesting supplemental funding from the City? Yes

Supplemental Funding

Please describe how you would use the supplemental funding for your event/activation: UWC will use the funds to create the event, including covering venue costs, talent fees, catering for the dinner, event decor, marketing & marketing materials, staging and technical needs.
