Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to LGBTQ Pride Pride festivals are core to pursuing the mission of Equality California and Equality California Institute. Pride, for us, is a place to do outreach, build community power and partnerships, and celebrate the beautiful and joyful diversity of our community. We participate annually in Pride events throughout the state - distributing educational materials related to LGBTQ+ health and wellbeing, encouraging political engagement on LGBTQ+ issues, and building our list of LGBTQ+ community members interested in advocacy. We are excited for the opportunity in 2022 to join together in person with our LGBTQ+ siblings.
Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to West Hollywood As an historic and major LGBTQ+ population center, West Hollywood is a key outreach area for our Southern California advocacy and power building efforts. Our organizational headquarters are located nearby in Los Angeles' Koreatown, and members of our staff are also locally involved in WeHo organizations and civic life. In the 2021 redistricting process, we also fought to keep WeHo in a single district, to ensure a unified community voice in selecting local representatives to the state legislature.
