Please briefly describe your organization/group and its mission or purpose: Femme Electronic was founded as a collective to counter the severe gender imbalance in the music industry and give women a platform in electronic music. It teaches girls and women to Dj, produce music, manage backroom projects in the industry through workshops, showcases, mentoring and residences. It started in East Africa.

Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to LGBTQ Pride The founder of the collective Rachael Kungu aka DJ Rachael, a lesbian Dj, has been at the forefront of raising Lgbtq matters and was also one of the founders of FAR(UG) a rights group in Uganda who have run Prides in Uganda. The group gives safe spaces to all women inclusive of LGBTQ to learn perform and share spaces with pride.
Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to West Hollywood DJ Rachael, family and friends who live in Hollywood, attended the 2019 Weho pride since the family moved to the USA in Dec 2018. Weho is our closest and best Pride. We tried to make a connect to West Hollywood through the Pride and talked with some performers about Femme Electronic making an entrance as performers on the next pride. Unfortunately the country closed down since.

In what way is your organization/group seeking to integrate with WeHo Pride? Option 2: Request City funding for a separately produced event.

Option 2 - Separately Produced Event

Please describe you proposed event: Under Femme Electronic we have a showcase name called “Femme Famous” party which gives a platform to host only women and/or LGBTQ Djs dancers and performers. We will host a free Mini DJ/music production workshop for small interested parties, aimed at women and LGBTQ members. Everything will be curated under the Pride theme with a decorated stage, costumes and masks created from scratch by one of our members who’s a designer. The Djs will play themed house/electronic music mainly.
Will you be requesting supplemental funding from the City? No

Agreement with the City of West Hollywood

If there is any additional information you would like to share, please use the below space: We will be proud to perform with the city of West Hollywood on this very important milestone. I as Dj Rachael and my family personally were persecuted in my home country for being gay until we fled to LA in December 2018. This will be a true moment of Pride.!
