Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to LGBTQ Pride |
The impact of HIV/AIDS on the LGBTQAI+ community has been huge. Being Alive LA was founded in 1986 by a coalition dedicated to supporting a community in the throes of fear, loss, and dire need.

Being Alive LA is a social service agency contracted/funded, in part, by the city of West Hollywood.
|
WeHo Pride Integration
In what way is your organization/group seeking to integrate with WeHo Pride? |
Option 2: Request City funding for a separately produced event.
|
Option 2 - Separately Produced Event
Please describe you proposed event: |
Being Alive outreach booth, Being Alive syringe servicing program booth, and AHF WeHo are partnering to create a fun and informational harm reduction WeHo Pride event including SSP, sexual harm reduction, promotion of PrEP/PEP/condoms/lube, and onsite HIV testing provided by AHF. We would like funding to secure additional applicable give-away items in addition to securing a food truck to entice folx to participate in testing and educational outreach opportunities. Being Alive and AHF have partnered in this space before for other events with great success. This spot is also currently Being Alive's SSP location every Saturday. If possible, we would like a hybrid option of listing this event as a WeHo designated footprint space to further build upon educational outreach and testing opportunities to reduce risk and harm in the community during the seasonal Pride events.
|
Will you be requesting supplemental funding from the City? |
Yes
|
Supplemental Funding
Please describe how you would use the supplemental funding for your event/activation: |
Securing a food truck for the event and making it ticketed to entice participants to test and engage in educational outreach. Purchasing additional "prize" items for outreach including personal lubricants.
|
Agreement with the City of West Hollywood
