Please briefly describe your organization/group and its mission or purpose: The Los Angeles LGBTQ Chamber increases the economic strength of the LGBTQ and allied business community through business development, legislative advocacy, networking and LGBTBE certification support.

Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to LGBTQ Pride The LAGLCC is not a 501c3 but it is a nonprofit and operates as a 501c6. The LAGLCC has exhibited at Pride in previous years and distributes information on how the LAGLCC can assist LGBTQ individuals in gaining the skills needed to be successful as a business owner as well as lend their voices to legislation that impacts the LGBTQ community as a whole and LGBTQ small businesses specifically. We have distributed free business directories, swag, and answered questions about access to capital and resources needed to run a successful business.
Please briefly describe the Organization/Group's connection to West Hollywood The LAGLCC has produced a significant number of its events in West Hollywood, hosting technical assistance workshops, a CIA recruitment event and book signing with Barney Frank at the West Hollywood City Library. It has also hosted networking mixers at PUMP, The Abbey, Chapel, Mickey's, Andaz West Hollywood, ROKU, Le Peer Hotel, and we were scheduled to host a mixer at the Edition prior to the pandemic. We also hosted our monthly luncheons at BOA Sunset for several years and 50% of our members operate in West Hollywood. We have also served as a resource to the City of West Hollywood to assist in a supplier diversity program to benefit small business owners from historically underutilized communities.

WeHo Pride Integration

In what way is your organization/group seeking to integrate with WeHo Pride? Option 1: Activate a designated space in the footprint of a WeHo Pride event held in the vicinity of West Hollywood Park and San Vicente Blvd. during the weekend of June 3-5, 2022, Option 2: Request City funding for a separately produced event.

Option 1 - Space within WeHo Pride Footprint

Please describe you proposed programming/activity within the WeHo Pride footprint: 10x10 booth to distribute flyers, swag, and answer questions
Will your organization/group be requesting supplemental funding from the City for programming and activities as a part of your footprint in WeHo Pride? Yes

Option 2 - Separately Produced Event

Please describe you proposed event: The LAGLCC would like to produce a business development workshop during Pride to educate small business owners on how to get Minority-,Women-, LGBT-,veteran-,disabled-owned business certifications. The more small businesses who are certified will greatly assist the City when it launches its inclusionary supplier diversity program.
Will you be requesting supplemental funding from the City? Yes

Supplemental Funding

Please describe how you would use the supplemental funding for your event/activation: The LAGLCC would use funding to cover hard costs associated with event space, copies, speaker, staff time, marketing, and graphics services

Assisting LGBT individuals strengthen their entrepreneurial skills allows them to capacity build and create jobs
